They have created a community in their stores for like-minded people. Not only that, but they give back to their community in a very big way. ABOUT DEAN’S NATURAL FOOD MARKETS
Dean Nelson started his journey by working at a health food store. “I fell in love with the culture… It inspired me to continue to serve others.” In 1996, he took a leap and decided to open his own Natural Food Market. His vision was to serve healthy foods and to do so in a way that had as little impact on the environment as possible. 22 years later, Dean’s Natural Food Markets has four New Jersey Locations and a die-hard community of customers.
Dean’s mission has always been about providing the highest-quality organic food and natural products on the market. But more than that, Dean’s also believes in putting the needs of the community before company profits. They have donated over $250,000 dollars to various local charities since opening in 1996. They support non-profits such as Mary’s Place by the Sea, the Monmouth County SPCA, Kick Cancer Overboard, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth & Middlesex Counties, Boys & Girls Club of Monmouth County and many more. Dean’s truly operates in a way that tries to make the world a better place.
Not only are the committed to helping the community, but they also work hard to reduce their environmental impact. Dean’s Market uses paper over plastic products whenever possible. They have a focus on reducing, reusing, and recycling. They provide their customers with eco-friendly to-go containers. And they also try to reduce food waste by donating any usable excess food waste to churches, reptile life, and wilderness preservation.
