About Brick & Brew
Brick and Brew is a modern gastropub located in Malvern, PA. It’s unique menu offers tastes that are equal parts fascinating and delicious. The menu is filled with delicious brick oven pizza options, offering traditional a Margherita Pizza and Pepperoni Pizza along with more decadent options like the Pancetta Pie or Sausage & Peppadew Pizza. If pizza is not on your mind, they also offer a custom beef burger, a variety of salads, and a truly impressive array of non-traditional dishes. Don’t pigeon hold Brick & Brew to their namesake, you may come with pizza and craft beer on the mind but end up eating Stuffed Pineapple, Wild Boar Sliders, and drinking Gin Blossoms.
PJP and Brick & Brew
Penn Jersey Paper is known for it’s excellent service and industry knowledge. Working with Brick & Brew highlighted many of the hats that PJP wears as a company. It’s easy to gloss over the amount of work, planning, and synergy that goes into building a restaurant. We’re so used to main street and city blocks changing store fronts that we forget that there is still a need to build from scratch. In the case of Brick & Brew, it was time to build something brand new.
Design & Build
A combination of PJP salesmen, designers, and builders worked along side Brick & Brew and their independent architecture consultants. Our Design & Build team assisted in creating an ideal and efficient kitchen layout for Brick & Brew. Our customer relationships allows PJP to fill in the role that is needed, Brick & Brew had established blueprints for their new location – it was PJP’s job to assist them in reaching their goal. We consider ourselves their Procurement Partners with our customers.
In the case of Brick & Brew we delivered all of their equipment including their convection oven, fryers, broilers, a Cambro Shelving unit, and grease hoods. At PJP we work hard to see a project all the way through, the key challenge in bringing this project to it’s conclusion was the installation of the pizza oven. Together we had to use a crane to lift the brick pizza oven into the kitchen. Each project has it’s own unique challenges, luckily PJP has the network, expertise, and connections to handle any job.
Working with Brick & Brew we walked them through walk-in designs, something they were not particularly accustomed to. It’s important to have a symbiotic and trustworthy relationship when dealing with such intricate projects. Along with the installation of a walk-in comes water management, different vendors options, and electric work.
Brick & Brew / PJP Partnership
The partnership doesn’t end after we help put the design together and build out the restaurant. Penn Jersey Paper is the most reputable and trusted name in restaurant supplies, disposables, and janitorial product distribution. After assisting in the implementation of the design and build plan, PJP provides insight into the products needed to follow health code and run a successful shop. We ensured that Brick & Brew saw our full offering of products and got to pick the best fit and value for their business. PJP carries a vast array of green products, economically responsible products, and luxury products; we like to make sure that our partners are set up for long term success. The partnership between PJP and Brick & Brew is going strong, as of Summer 2019 we are in the process of setting up their Havertown location.
