A: You must retake the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification Examination before your current ServSafe Certification expires. Check your local regulatory requirements for more information about certification renewal. Requirements may include completing both food safety training and the ServSafe Certification Exam. Contact PJP to learn more about exam options or to find a class that fits your schedule. If you have questions about your state's requirements, please contact your state/local health department for more options.

How long is my ServSafe Food Safety certification good for?
A: The National Restaurant Association recognizes the ServSafe certification as valid for five years. However, some state and local jurisdictions and company policies will only recognize the certification as valid for three years.
